Atlantis Computing with Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS), better together

Historically the virtual workspace has challenges such as cost, performance, user-experience and complexity and PVS as part of that solution, was seen as difficult to manage. These days are over with developments within Citrix Provisioning Service to lower cost and increase performance benefit from flash, software defined storage and hyper converged infrastructure appliances. Atlantis Computing is leading in the modern virtual workspace with software defined storage (SDS) and hyper converged infrastructure (HCI) solutions.

Hyperconvergence: Taking your first step

If you are like most IT leaders, you have heard of hyperconvergence but probably haven’t gotten your feet wet. Per a recent end user survey we conducted, only about 20% of respondents are currently actually using hyperconverged appliances.

The Zen of Atlantis USX on Citrix XenServer: Part III A Simple in Memory Volume

What is Atlantis USX software defined storage and how does it work on Citrix XenServer? What does the impact of hyper converged on Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp workloads? If I'm using Citrix XenServer for non-VDI workloads, is software defined storage applicable to me? This is Part III in a blog series looking to answer these questions, providing insight into the possibilities of reducing the costs of delivering a virtualised environment while improving the performance.

Atlantis Partners with VMware To Extend Virtual Volumes to $300 Billion In Existing Datacenter Storage

Today, VMware announced the release of VMware Virtual Volumes as part of vSphere 6. VMware vSphere Virtual Volumes (VVOL) is a critical part of the storage industry revolution of moving from physical storage to software-define storage (SDS), shifting policy control from being locked up in proprietary hardware to being integrated into the Software-Defined Datacenter. As one of the first VVOL partners, Atlantis is excited to start leveraging VVOL as part of our Atlantis USX software-defined storage platform to deliver SDS across entire datacenter.

A Partnership for Performance – SanDisk and Atlantis Computing

In this world of self-empowerment, I still believe it takes a team to succeed. It takes a team to achieve success, whether it be the Denver Broncos of American football featuring the awesome quarterback Peyton Manning, or at my job at SanDisk. In light of this, I’m having a joint discussion on this blog with a SanDisk partner (I like to refer to him as our extended team member), Seth Knox, VP of Products at Atlantis Computing.

Getting Started with Atlantis USX - Part 2

Basic Installation and Configuration Guide for the 2.0 GA Release (Part 2)

Before we get started configuring volumes, we need to make sure all our prerequisites are in place and we have a bit of initial setup to run through. The two most important of which are a vSphere 5.1 or later environment with: 1) Minimum of three hosts, and 2) 10GbE network. As a software-only solution, USX is imported into a vSphere environment by using the familiar “Deploy OVF Template” process.

Getting Started with Atlantis USX - Part 1

Basic Installation and Configuration Guide for the 2.0 GA Release (Part 1)

About two months ago I joined Atlantis Computing based out of Mountain View, California as a Sr. Solutions Architect. After recent partner trainings, customer demos, POCs, and implementations, I felt the need to share a couple USX deployment scenarios and installation procedures to broaden understanding of USX in the community. USX 2.0 is now generally available and available to download to customers and key partners. If you want to know how to get access to USX, please feel free to reach out!

Increasing the Flexibility, Scalability and Performance of Datacenter Storage with Atlantis ILIO USX

Storage here, storage there, storage everywhere. Does this sound familiar? At the pace that servers are being virtualized (74% of servers in 2014), storage capacity requirements are growing at 40% per year and doubling every 2 years. But the need is not for just more storage capacity, it is specifically for more high performance storage with the flexibility required by virtualized datacenters today.
